📊 Configure how GermainUX monitors, analyzes, and alerts on user experience, performance, errors, customer journeys, and conversion across your Squarespace website.

📂 1. Open the UX Monitoring Profile

Go to:

Germain Workspace > Left Menu > Analytics > UX Monitoring Profiles

Select the UX Monitoring Profile created by the Squarespace Wizard.

Use this profile to configure the monitoring behavior for the Squarespace website.

📡 2. Configure Real User Monitoring

Configure the user activity and browser telemetry required for your monitoring objectives.

🔎 Depending on the configuration, GermainUX can collect:ct:

  • Page views

  • Navigation

  • Clicks

  • User interactions

  • Browser performance

  • Network requests

  • HTTP errors

  • JavaScript errors

  • User/session information

  • Customer-defined events

Enable only the monitoring required for your use cases.

🎥 3. Configure Session Replay

Session Replay is configured through the applicable UX Monitoring Profile.

Configure:

  • Session Replay enabled/disabled

  • Session timeout

  • Sensitive-data exclusions

  • IP exclusions

  • Included IP ranges

  • Excluded usernames

  • Headless-browser exclusion

  • Customer-defined monitoring behavior

Validate the resulting recording before production rollout.

🔒 4. Configure Privacy

Review all data collected from the Squarespace website.

Configure masking or exclusion for sensitive information such as:

  • Customer information

  • Contact information

  • Authentication information

  • Payment-related information

  • Form values

  • Customer-defined sensitive fields

Do not collect sensitive information that is unnecessary for the monitoring use case.

👤 5. Configure User Identification

When appropriate and permitted, configure the identifiers required to associate monitored activity with a user or customer.

Depending on what the application exposes, these can include:

  • User ID

  • Customer ID

  • Username

  • Session ID

  • Customer-defined identifiers

Avoid collecting unnecessary personally identifiable information.

🛒 6. Configure Conversion Monitoring

Define the events representing your Squarespace conversion funnel.

For an eCommerce storefront, this can include:

Product View → Add to Cart → Cart → Checkout → Purchase

Define the steps required to determine:

  • Funnel entry

  • Progression

  • Conversion

  • Abandonment

  • Failure

This allows GermainUX to analyze conversion across individual sessions and larger populations.

🗺️ 7. Configure Customer Journeys

Define important customer journeys beyond the primary conversion funnel.

Examples include:

Product Purchase

Landing Page → Product → Add to Cart → Checkout → Purchase

Product Discovery

Homepage → Category → Product → Product Details

Customer Support

Help → Search → Support Content → Contact

Use journey analysis to identify:

  • Drop-off

  • Repeated steps

  • Unexpected navigation

  • Delays

  • Errors

  • Friction

⚠️ 8. Configure Error Monitoring

Configure the browser errors relevant to your Squarespace website.

Depending on the monitoring configuration, these can include:

  • JavaScript errors

  • Console errors

  • HTTP errors

  • Failed network requests

  • Resource-loading failures

Analyze errors together with user sessions and business outcomes to understand their impact.

⚡ 9. Configure Performance Monitoring

Configure the performance KPIs required for the website.

Examples include:

  • Page-load time

  • User interaction time

  • Browser processing time

  • Network-request duration

  • HTTP-request duration

  • JavaScript execution time

Performance thresholds should reflect the expected experience for your website rather than applying identical thresholds to every page or interaction.

📊 10. Configure JavaScript Profiling — Optional

For advanced JavaScript troubleshooting, enable JavaScript Profiling for the applicable UX Monitoring Profile when supported.

Go to:

Germain Workspace > Left Menu > Analytics > UX Monitoring Profiles

Select the profile and configure:

JavaScript Profiling Monitoring

Use advanced profiling when deeper visibility into browser JavaScript execution is required.

🔗 11. Configure Integration Monitoring — Optional

Monitor customer-controlled services or integrations that affect the Squarespace customer experience.

Examples include:

  • APIs

  • Payment integrations

  • Marketing integrations

  • Customer-controlled services

  • External HTTP endpoints

Correlate integration failures or performance degradation with affected user sessions whenever possible.

🤖 12. Configure Synthetic Monitoring — Optional

Use GermainUX RPA Bot Recorder to create synthetic scenarios for critical website functionality.

Examples:

Homepage → Product → Add to Cart → Verify Cart

Homepage → Navigation → Verify Page

Configure:

  • Scenario

  • Execution schedule

  • Expected result

  • Timeout

  • Monitoring location

  • Failure conditions

  • Alerting

Avoid synthetic scenarios that create unintended production transactions.

🎯 13. Configure KPIs

Configure the KPIs required for your Squarespace monitoring objectives.

Depending on the use case, these can include:

  • User Session
