Session Replay not available?

warning Problem

You cannot replay what a user did in the monitored web application.

This can occur when:

Cause

1

Real User Monitoring is not working.

2

Session Replay is disabled globally.

3

Session Replay is disabled for the applicable UX Monitoring Profile.

🔎 Troubleshooting Steps

1️⃣ Confirm That Real User Monitoring Is Working

Check whether other RUM data—such as user clicks, JavaScript errors, and outbound HTTP requests—is available.

If all RUM data is missing, see Real User Monitoring Data Is Not Available.

2️⃣ Verify the Global Session Replay Setting

  1. Go to Germain Workspace > System > UX/Session Replay Settings.

  2. Confirm that Session Replay Data is enabled.

  3. Save any changes.

3️⃣ Verify the UX Monitoring Profile

  1. Go to Germain Workspace > Analytics > UX Monitoring Profiles.

  2. Select the profile associated with the application.

  3. Confirm that Session Replay Monitoring is enabled.

  4. Save the profile.

✅ Validate the Resolution

After enabling Session Replay:

  1. Open the monitored application in a new browser session.

  2. Perform several user interactions.

  3. Confirm that the new session appears in GermainUX.

  4. Open the session and verify that it can be replayed.

The updated configuration applies to newly recorded activity. A session collected while Session Replay was disabled cannot be reconstructed afterward.
