How to validate Germain UX RUM JS deployment ?

📄 Overview

Use the UX Tester to verify that GermainUX RUM JS is correctly deployed on a web application.

The UX Tester checks the target page for the GermainUX monitoring script and helps confirm that Real User Monitoring can start.

Use this procedure:

🔧 Validate the Deployment

  1. Go to:

    Germain Workspace > Germain > UX Tester

    UX Tester tool

  2. Enter the URL of the application you want GermainUX to monitor.

  3. Select Test.

  4. Wait while GermainUX checks the application for the RUM JS monitoring script.

  5. Review the validation results displayed below the test form.

A successful result confirms that GermainUX RUM JS is available on the tested page.

📡 Validate Monitoring Data

Script validation confirms that RUM JS is present, but you should also verify that monitoring data reaches GermainUX.

After the UX Tester succeeds:

  1. Open the monitored application as a test user.

  2. Perform several representative actions.

  3. Allow GermainUX to capture the session.

  4. Confirm that the user session appears in GermainUX.

  5. Verify that expected user events are associated with the session.

  6. Open Session Replay, when enabled, and confirm that the recording is available.

  7. Verify that privacy, masking, and exclusion rules are working as expected.

This confirms the complete path:

RUM JS deployed → Monitoring active → Data received → Session available

If the UX Tester does not detect RUM JS:

Confirm that RUM JS was added to the correct application or page.

Script loading

Verify that the application is loading the monitoring script.

Developer console

Check browser developer tools for script-loading or JavaScript errors.

Security controls

Confirm that Content Security Policy or other browser security controls are not blocking the script.

Network connectivity

Verify network connectivity to the required GermainUX services.

Integration guide

Check whether the application has a dedicated GermainUX Integration deployment guide with application-specific deployment requirements.

If RUM JS is detected but no monitoring data appears in GermainUX, continue with User Monitoring Data Is Not Available.
