Automation - Execute a script in one click

​

Description

Before this enhancement, in order to support one button log level change we needed an action to be deployed and enabled/disabled, or scheduled to run at exact timing. Similarly to Maintenance Periods, we now have a “play” button to execute a script. No longer needed setup an action, play button directly executes a script.

Automation - Multiple SQL queries to generate a Report

​

Description

Ability to automate the generation of a report (that is sent via email, etc) based on data coming from the execution of multiple SQL queries.

Collaboration - Request Access to Dashboard

​

Description

Allow users to require permanent access to Germain dashboard.

​

Collaboration- Share insights/dashboard with others

​

Description

Allow users to share dashboard with other users, whether these other users are Germain user or not. A number of mechanisms have been built to address 3 separate use cases:

• user is a Germain user and has visibility to that dashboard
• user is a Germain user but does not have visibility to that dashboard
• user isn’t a Germain users

Configuration - Rule validation (enhanced)

Description

Our rule validator now supports the validation of a Rule that contains special characters e.g. () /\ % ? ; duh! 🙂

​

Configuration - SQL Validator (enhanced)

​

Description

Validate a SQL to ensure it is correct (that is written either for monitoring, report generation, data update, etc). that feature was there but needed to be enhanced so it works even if values for bind variables aren’t provided.

Configuration - Template content (for a report, etc)

​

Description

Allows a user to see the actual content of a template (e.g. a report template), so it is easier to fix invalid SQL queries when knowing what fields are required/optional.

Monitoring & Analytics - “OR” and “LIKE” support on BP filters

​

Description

Use Case 1: Business Process that has a Logout Step in it, used to fail with a Logout-Timeout transaction and “OR” behavior on Step filters wasn’t allowed. All this is now history! Whenever the key name is the same, multiple values can be specified on a filter. Use Case 2: we want to create a BP step on a new SR creation which can occur on multiple web pages. We would like to configure a step filter as application.page = ‘Service Request % ’ and that would cover all use cases…before this enhancement we could constraint only to a specific web page(e.g. Service Request123)

Description

Identify, in real-time and 24x7, unauthorized accesses to an application. A number of things have been implemented for this clients and as usual ported by to Germain out-of-the-box.

Description

Ability to view User Behavior or Business Process, using various level of aggregations. e.g. Page to Page, then drilldown to view clicks on each page. Several configuration options

A number of new metrics are provided, such as:

Maintenance - 40k apm unit/seconds @ one client

​

Description

Scaled Germain to 40K metrics analyzed per second. This is not a limit, rather what is needed for this client.

Maintenance - Auto-agent registration

​

Description

Germain Servers running in one time zone, whereas monitored servers are running in a separate time zone. Before this enhancement, a new and separate server entry (Data Sources) had to be created for each Germain server.

​

Maintenance - ElasticSearch 7.8

​

Description

ElasticSearch 7.8 is now supported as datastore for Germain (in lieu of any other currently supported datastore: DB2, MemSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQLServer). ElasticSearch 7.9 support on its way.

• Measures = docvalue_fields[…levels,…values] + _source[…contentFields]
• Level constraint = term { field: value }
• Timeseries mapping json
• Query pattern for
  • Multi pivot aggregations,
  • Increased efficiency: one at index time, and one at query time
  • Disjunctive filters

No difference in the way data is displayed, aggregated, analyzed, searched on Germain dashboard.

Benefits

Performance of Germain is significantly better than relational database and you will find it more obvious once you start reaching ~500 Millions metrics stored DAILY in Germain (yet you can start seeing performance benefit at 100 or 200 Million Germain unit per day for low-end hardware and storage).

Performed an audit of our GDPR capabilities to ensure compliance.

Maintenance - Raw data retention is now configurable per Fact Type

​

Description

Before all raw data was being dropped at the same time. This enhancement allows individual Fact Types to drop high-volume data sooner. This came up in the context of the alerting screen, where customer wanted to keep raw alerts for longer than other data raw data retention configurable per fact type
