Requesting Access to Germain

🔑 Requesting Access

Step

Details

Obtain the URL to your Germain instance from your organization or contact your administrators.

The Germain instance URL is the gateway to your organization’s analytics engine. Treat it like the front door to a secure operations center: the hostname identifies the correct tenant, while the path routes you to the access workflow. If you do not know the URL, request it from your manager, help desk, or Germain administrator and confirm that it uses HTTPS.

Launch the URL and click the "Request Access" link.

Your administrator(s) will be automatically notified and will either approve or reject your access request.

The request is routed to the configured administrator group for approval. Administrators validate your business need, role, and identity before granting access. Approval provisions the account and triggers the password setup email; rejection usually indicates that additional authorization, role clarification, or identity verification is required.

🔒 Setting Up Your Password

Step

Details

If your access request is approved by your administrator, you will receive an email with a link.

After approval, Germain sends a password setup email to the address associated with the approved request. Check your inbox and spam or quarantine folders for a time-sensitive message. For security, the link may expire; if it does, ask your administrator to resend the invitation rather than forwarding or reusing an old link.

Click on the link provided in the email to set up your password.

Open the link in a supported browser and create a password that satisfies your organization’s policy for length, complexity, and uniqueness. Use a password manager where available. Avoid reusing credentials from other systems; the password functions like an encryption key that protects access to analytics data, dashboards, and operational telemetry.

💻 Logging On to Workspace

Action

Details

To access Germain Workspace, go to: https://INSTANCE_NAME/germainux/workspace.

Replace INSTANCE_NAME with the hostname provided by your organization, then authenticate with the email address and password associated with your approved account. This Workspace URL routes you directly to the user interface where dashboards, investigations, and monitoring views are available. Bookmark the final URL only after you verify that the address belongs to your approved Germain environment.

Recommended Action

You do not know the Germain instance URL.

Contact your administrator or service desk and request the exact HTTPS URL for your tenant. Do not guess the hostname; an incorrect URL is like entering the wrong control room and may route you away from the authorized analytics environment.

The Request Access link is unavailable or does not load.

Confirm network connectivity, browser compatibility, and VPN requirements. Clear cached redirects or try a private browsing session. If the issue persists, capture the URL, timestamp, browser version, and any error message before escalating to the administrator.

The approval email has not arrived.

Check spam, junk, quarantine, and email filtering rules. Verify that the request was submitted with the correct corporate email address. If no message is received, ask the administrator to confirm whether the request is still pending, approved, rejected, or awaiting additional validation.

The password setup link is expired or invalid.

Request a new invitation or password reset from your administrator. For security, do not reuse forwarded links or links from previous requests; setup tokens are intentionally short-lived to reduce the risk of unauthorized account activation.

Login fails after the password is created.

Verify the Workspace URL, username, password, keyboard layout, and any single sign-on or multi-factor authentication requirements. If the problem continues, provide administrators with the error text and approximate login time so they can correlate the event with authentication and audit logs.
