## User Monitoring & Session Replay KPIs

## Overview

GermainUX provides preconfigured **KPIs, Measures, and Pivots** for analyzing real-user experience, behavior, application usage, performance, errors, feedback, and session activity.

These analytics turn the data captured by **User Monitoring & Session Replay** into measurable insights that can help answer questions such as:

* What are users doing?
* Where are users experiencing friction?
* Which applications, pages, or workflows are affected?
* Which errors are users encountering?
* How much time are users spending on activities?
* Where are users abandoning or dropping off?

> **Show all 9**
>
> * Which users or populations are most affected?
> * How does performance affect the user experience?
> * What feedback are users providing?

## Preconfigured Analytics

GermainUX includes a large library of preconfigured analytics for User Monitoring & Session Replay.

| Analytics | Included | Purpose |
| - | - | - |
| **KPIs** | Approximately 50 | Monitor user behavior, engagement, feedback, errors, performance, and other UX signals. |
| **Measures** | Approximately 140 | Quantify duration, volume, errors, feedback, drop-offs, activity, and other outcomes. |
| **Pivots** | Approximately 50 | Segment results by user, application, page, browser, device, location, campaign, and other dimensions. |

## KPIs

KPIs define the events, activities, conditions, and outcomes that GermainUX monitors and analyzes.

Depending on the application and monitoring configuration, KPIs can cover areas such as:

* AI Session Analysis
* AI Session Friction
* AI Session Recommendation
* Application usage
* Business transactions
* Clicks and interactions

> **Show all 18**
>
> * Conversion events
> * Dead, Error, and Rage Clicks
> * Drop-offs
> * Errors
> * Navigation
> * Network activity
> * Other user-experience events
> * Page and screen activity
> * Performance
> * User activity
> * User Feedback
> * User sessions

[KPIs](/main/kpis.md) can be analyzed independently or correlated with the user session and Session Replay to provide additional context.

## Measures

Measures quantify the data associated with monitored KPIs.

They can be used to analyze values such as:

* Count
* Duration
* Frequency
* Activity
* Errors
* Feedback

> **Show all 9**
>
> * Drop-offs
> * Performance
> * Other monitored outcomes

[Measures](/main/kpis.md) make it possible to compare experiences across users, sessions, applications, pages, workflows, and populations.

## Pivots

Pivots allow monitored data to be segmented and analyzed across different dimensions.

Depending on the available data, examples can include:

* User
* Session
* Application
* Page
* Browser
* Device

> **Show all 10**
>
> * Operating system
> * Location
> * Campaign
> * Other monitored dimensions

[Pivots](/main/kpis.md) help identify where an experience, behavior, or issue is concentrated rather than relying only on an overall average or total.

## Analyze User Experience

KPIs, Measures, and Pivots can be used together to move from an observation to a more focused understanding of the user experience.

For example:

| Step | Value |
| - | - |
| **KPI** | Rage Click |
| ↓ | ↓ |
| **Measure** | Number of Rage Clicks |
| ↓ | ↓ |
| **Pivot** | Application / Page / User |
| ↓ | ↓ |
| **Session** | Identify affected sessions |
| ↓ | ↓ |
| **Session Replay** | See what users experienced |

This makes it possible to move from aggregated analytics to the individual sessions that provide supporting evidence.

## Preconfigured KPI Catalogs

The complete preconfigured KPI, Measure, and Pivot definitions are available in the following catalogs:

### Web Analytics KPIs, Pivots & Measures

Use this catalog for analytics associated with web activity and monitored web applications.

[Web Analytics KPIs, Pivots & Measures](/main/kpis-web-analytics.md)

### User Experience KPIs, Pivots & Measures

Use this catalog for analytics associated with user experience, interactions, sessions, and related UX signals.

## Custom KPIs

The preconfigured analytics can be extended with custom KPIs for organization-specific applications, workflows, events, and business objectives.

Custom KPIs can be used when you need to monitor or analyze something that is not already represented by a preconfigured KPI.

Examples can include:

* Organization-specific business transactions
* Application-specific user actions
* Workflow milestones
* Custom conversion events
* Business errors
* Application states
* Customer-specific experience signals

Custom KPIs can then use GermainUX Measures and Pivots and participate in dashboards, analytics, alerts, Session Replay, and other applicable GermainUX capabilities.

The Germain Team can help design, configure, and customize KPIs for your specific requirements at no additional cost.

## Configure KPIs, Measures & Pivots

KPIs and their associated Measures and Pivots can be configured and customized in GermainUX.

See [KPIs, Pivots & Measures](/main/kpis.md) for detailed configuration information.
