Features
Germain can monitor Uptime and Performance of Server, on-premise or cloud.
Configure
Following are the steps to configure a new node to monitor a server. Example below is to monitor a Siebel Web Server running on Apache / Linux. The steps vary depending on the exact configuration details (which OS, run engines remote / local, etc.).
Create a new server
1. Log on to Germain Workspace > left menu > Data Sources > Hardware
2. Click Add/plus button
3. Provide Server Name
4. Select Environment and Type from the drop-down list
5. Provide hostname of the server
6. Select OS Family and provide OS Name
7. Click Finish
The server has been added. Now we can add monitoring to this server.
Create a new Monitoring Node
1. Log on to Germain Workspace > left menu > Wizards > Monitoring Node
2. Add
3. Provide Name and hostname. Here we will use the same details for our Siebel Web Server example.
4. Click Finish
5. New Monitoring Node will show up in the list
Create a new Engine
1. Log on to Germain Workspace > left menu > Wizards > Monitoring Node
2. Add
3. Provide a name for the engine
4. Click Next
5. On this page we can add/modify Java options for the engine
6. Click Next
7. Click Finish.
The engine will be auto deployed if it is in the same server as Germain UX. If it is a remote deployment of the engine, you can follow the instructions provided on the following page.
