## Overview

GermainUX RPA bots execute recorded SAP user scenarios to detect application, performance, and business-process issues before users are affected.

For compatible browser-based SAP applications, bots can continuously validate critical processes such as:

| | Process |
| - | - |
| 1 | Application login |
| 2 | SAP Fiori navigation |
| 3 | Search and data retrieval |
| 4 | Form submission |
| 5 | Order creation |
| 6 | Approval workflows |
| 7 | SAP Commerce Cloud product search |
| 8 | Add to cart and checkout |
| 9 | Custom business transactions |

GermainUX can alert teams when a scenario fails or becomes slow. The GermainUX Engine can also initiate approved corrective actions, such as restarting an accessible service or integration.

## Prerequisites

Before configuring an RPA bot:

| Action | Details |
| - | - |
| Deploy the GermainUX RPA Bot Recorder | Deploy the **GermainUX RPA Bot Recorder**. |
| Deploy and configure Engine | Deploy and configure the **GermainUX Engine** that will execute the scenario. |
| Create test account | Create a dedicated SAP test account with only the required permissions. |
| Prepare test data | Prepare stable test data that can be safely created, updated, or removed. |
| Confirm access | Confirm that the Engine can access the SAP application. |
| Define execution parameters | Define the expected result, execution schedule, timeout, and alert recipients. |

## Record a Scenario

| Step | Instruction |
| - | - |
| 1 | Open the SAP application in a supported browser. |
| 2 | Start the GermainUX RPA Bot Recorder. |
| 3 | Perform the complete business scenario. |
| 4 | Add validation points for important pages, values, messages, or outcomes. |
| 5 | Save the scenario. |
| 6 | Configure it for execution by the appropriate GermainUX Engine. |
| 7 | Test the scenario in a nonproduction environment before enabling it in production. |

Use reliable element identifiers and outcome validations. Avoid depending only on screen position, timing, or temporary data.

## Configure Proactive Detection

For each scenario, configure:

* Execution schedule
* Maximum duration
* Step-level timeouts
* Expected application state
* Expected business outcome
* Retry behavior

>
> * Execution location
> * Alert conditions
> * Maintenance periods

GermainUX can detect:

* Application unavailability
* Authentication failures
* Missing or incorrect page content
* Slow transactions
* Failed process steps
* Unexpected application messages

> [accordion] Show all 9
>
> * JavaScript or network errors
> * SAP Commerce Cloud search, cart, or checkout failures
> * Integration failures visible through the tested process

## Configure Corrective Actions

When a failure is detected, GermainUX automation can initiate approved actions through the Engine, including:

* Sending an alert or report
* Calling an HTTP endpoint or webhook
* Executing an authorized script
* Running a database operation
* Updating approved application data
* Restarting an accessible service or integration
* Creating or updating a ticket

Corrective actions must be explicitly configured and tested. GermainUX can act only on systems and interfaces accessible to the Engine.

Use automatic remediation only when the action is predictable, reversible, and safe. Require approval for actions that could affect production data, users, security, or service availability.

## Analyze Results

Use GermainUX dashboards to review:

* Scenario availability
* Success and failure rates
* End-to-end duration
* Step duration
* Error messages
* Screenshots and execution evidence

> * Corrective actions performed
> * Recovery results

Correlate bot failures with available browser telemetry, application logs, API performance, infrastructure metrics, and recent deployments.

## Validation

After enabling the bot:

| Step | Instruction |
| - | - |
| 1 | Confirm that it runs on schedule. |
| 2 | Verify each validation point. |
| 3 | Generate a controlled failure where safe. |
| 4 | Confirm that GermainUX detects and reports the failure. |
| 5 | Verify alert routing and maintenance-period behavior. |
| 6 | Test corrective actions in a nonproduction environment. |
| 7 | Confirm that credentials and sensitive values are protected. |
| 8 | Review bot-created data and clean it up when required. |

## Operational Guidelines

| Guideline | Details |
| - | - |
| Use dedicated accounts | Use dedicated accounts instead of employee accounts. |
| Minimum permissions | Grant bots the minimum required permissions. |
| Store credentials safely | Store credentials in an approved credential store. |
| Exclude from analytics | Exclude bot sessions from real-user analytics where appropriate. |
| Use recognizable test records | Use recognizable test records. |
| Prevent duplicates | Prevent repeated executions from creating duplicate transactions. |
| Review after changes | Review scenarios after SAP application or workflow changes. |
| Maintain audit trail | Maintain an audit trail of automated corrective actions. |
