The handling of Business Process "Steps" have been enhanced so that you can now create KPIs & SLAs for them (initially you could only create KPIs and SLAs for the Business Process itself..not the individual phase that a BP may consist of).  This of course allows you to configure alerts for the BP Steps, but in addition you can create portlets that directly report (trends, pivots, etc are all possible) on the steps, and see them on Aggregate, Pivot, Drill-through and RCA dashboards.


When configuring KPIs for Business Process Steps, make sure to provide correct factClass and factCategory:

  • factClass: either a generic one (GenericBusinessProcessStep) or a custom one (e.g. SiebelBusinessProcessStep), must match bpStepClass value from the business process configuration
  • factCategory: must match name from business process configuration
